Good reasons to dominate AND BAD REASONS,WE Try...to be DOMINANT.
My father taught me a long time ago that, the key to life is balance;Never go too far
to any extremes.Nowadays, the term ..extremists usually refers to terrorists. This article is slightly inspired by the US election going on across the Atlantic. It is common knowledge that the race to be president of the United States of America is down to two candidates;Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. And we may be familiar with the slogan"let's make America great again".It got me thinking ...and asking the question, when was US great...?And,why were they considered great? Now,folks this is not a political article,so do not disengage if you have serious apathy for politics and politicians.IT IS THE REASON,I POSTED THIS UNDER PHILOSOPHY AND PSYCHOLOGY rather than POLITICS.
My conclusion about the greatness of the US was that they dominated their affairs, and to an extent other people's affairs. So my humble question is this:when is it okay to dominate (i.e.Be dominant)I can hear some people shouting right now, saying ..of course all the time! And,some others saying whenever possible (i.e. according to your abilities)If this is the case, then ...Apartheid and slavery were not evils.Am I stretching it a bit...?I don't think so...!There are good reasons to dominate. And there are bad or completely evil reasons to dominate.Yes or No?
The bible suggests that we(as children of God)should dominate our environment and nature. And of course, naturists and environmental conservationists find this distasteful.
Why should we assume the right to "destroy"or manipulate to our advantage life that does not harm us but, supports ours?Good question;A discussion for another post.
Whatever your inclination on this subject of domination is...everyone admits, there is a need and right for anything living to seek its own survival. When does ...the line in between surviving and dominance become blurry and seize to exist?
I will try to answer that question here:and it is by no means conclusive or absolute.
I just have an opinion or point of view to put across, and I believe I have the right to do so....!You may not know this,or agree ...with this statement but, I believe it is largely true.Every act (both good and bad)have reasons;and sometimes ...a defence. If you can tie any motive to the fact that ...you need it,then who can argue with that...eh?The problem with that attitude or philosophy is that everyone else has needs. And our needs often cross paths. And those who ..answered earlier, that "we need to dominate all the time"will point to this conundrum as a good excuse.Well,I am sure,a lot of clever minds would argue against the idea that we are ...nothing but, clever animals.Again, another topic for another day.The point ...I am trying to make is this:we are human beings because we have a drive to make our past, present and future better.Animals don't care about their past, they care little about their future(distant future)and concentrate upon their present. We(humans)are more...than that...No?

BAD REASONS TO...DOMINATE
1-To attract attention to yourself.
2-To validate your own superficial sense of worth or identity
3-To destroy or create anarchy for selfish reasons
4-Because of jealousy
5-To Maintain a false reputation
6-For a taste (or thirst)of power
7-To perpetuate your existence and yours alone.
GOOD REASONS TO DOMINATE...
1-You want to give something they don't have...
2-You want to protect them from something they don't know about...
3-You want to help them with something they have asked for...
4-You want to take from them something that belongs to you...or is up for grabs
5-You want to learn a new experience...with or without their help
6-You want to celebrate or simply show off...or reflect, boost confidence
7-You need to leverage any affinity, they have for you...for some good reason
8-You need to defend yourself...
1-You want to give something they don't have...

7-You need to leverage any affinity, they have for you...for some good reason
8-You need to defend yourself...
As I said earlier this ...is by no means conclusive. Some individuals might think it is okay to suppress other people's needs,in search of theirs. It is a jungle out there, they claim. It is a dog eat dog world. If you are submissive, you will be trampled upon. Now,I am not advocating submissiveness. If you have read my other posts..you would know that is not what I am about...I am saying check your Ferrari of "I must get this,at all costs"and consider who you might be trampling upon or hurting because what goes around ...comes around. You may be able ...to defend yourself against other dominating competition but, some people you deeply ..care and love may not be able to defend themselves ..all the time.It is at those moments that you would wish others(this world) was a more compassionate one.
Even Donald Trump's feelings can be hurt.In their first debate,he claimed Hillary's campaign were saying somethings that were not true and deeply offensive to him.And that he would not "think" of doing the same thing to her.Well,it may have been political game playing but,he touched on an important point. He should remember it goes both ways;he does not want America to be taken for granted but,two wrongs do not make a right. We should not be seeking to dominate the weak, simply because others are doing the same, and ...trying it on us.We should seek to defend ourselves and protect the weak.WHAT ARE WE...IF WE DON'T CARE whether we are right or wrong anymore?austin4sports.com

THE "UGLY" TRUTH ABOUT ..."BOSSY"FEMALES
...Not too long ago,a world wide superstar and female musician queried the rationale in a male driven culture of referring to "independent " and "strong" women,as bossy. At the same time(she argued...)males who showed, grit and self awareness(in equal measure and nature)were referred to,as leaders. She asked for a balancing of this perception .Now,we must not conclude that this is a...male vs female divided argument.Yesterday I was listening to a BBC radio morning program, when one of them (two female presenters)referred to a third female colleague (who was not present)as bossy. Now,it did not sound ...entirely negative. And here lies the cream in the biscuit:It is not seen as negative by everyone ...when referred to someone as being a bossy female. So what is the out cry,all about...?Of course, this has become mainstream public discussion since tough speaking Teresa May took the British prime minister job.On one hand, you have Chancellor Merkel and ...the Scottish first minister sturgeon raising the profile of strong women around the world. And,alongside them, the possibility of someone like Hilary Clinton taking the White House..And, on the other hand we still have ...many referring to,any strong-willed female as bossy.it is only a matter of time, when "everyone"would be forced to address this gender issue,head-on.When is it appropriate to call a female, bossy or bitchy?I say this...because those are real words, that mean something in the real world. What do they mean, and ...what should they, really mean in a progressive and liberal world like ours, today?

...Both males and females can be referred to as being ....bossy,as opposed to
being independent or a strong-willed leader.A bossy person is usually self-centred and self-pleasuring.True leaders are self sacrificing, not greedy.(Look who I am talking to..?A generation that has glorified self-aggrandisement more than any other??)
A bossy person is usually a stubborn person.A strong person is usually strong-willed.
What is the difference..?A stubborn person never bends or agrees with/to outside will or opinion.A strong person comes to ..an opinion (theirs or others)via their own self-will.That is ..the difference. If you still cannot ..see it?Well..?

WHAT TYPE OF BELIEVER ARE YOU....?
WHAT KIND OF BELIEVER ARE YOU....?
This is not a solely Christian article. No;this is a humanity generalised article. What type of believer are you?Can you answer this question, with all sincerity and clarity?I could not manage it,a few weeks ago. However,I can say with clarity that I am the kind of believer who accepts and considers a notion, idea or practice as important...and aims to live by them.
You see..there are two ways to look at the idea of belief. And subsequently...this gives rise to the kind of believer we eventually become,in life. One way of looking at the beliefs notion is ...the one I mentioned above. The second one...is,having a question attitude towards the whole thing. You ask yourself, whether the notion or idea mentioned is real or....in existence.For,example...one could ask whether real love exists in this world and beyond? If you don't think love(in real terms)exists in this world;you are likely to say to yourself, that you don't believe in love. Now,some would not admit it openly, for fear of social consequences but, that's what they believe. And their actions and decisions would reflect it.Another familiar example would be...Do you believe in aliens? If you don't think ...there is life beyond our planet, then you are likely to say,no.If you...think,there must be some kind of alien activity outside our atmosphere that does not belong to humans, then you would say....yes.We could apply this same logic or narrative to ghosts, goodness, happiness,Santa Claus, heaven, hell, mafia, secret societies and eventually God.It does not matter whether the person in question ...has experienced it themselves.(For some, it does matter)If you ...think it is part of reality,then...you are inclined to say,you believe in such and such.
What does this matter? How does this ...question matter? As I said earlier, what we believe affects our actions and decisions. And our actions and decisions affect the lives of our neighbours and fellow humans. When someone says..or believes that Life is a kind of hell on earth, then it affects their thoughts and actions towards others.Of
course ...it is not easy to change what you believe.Fortunately,it is easier to ...keep an open mind. And,it is this fact that drives my article today.
Often we catch others...slipping on their principles and professed beliefs. And,our first reaction is...surely,they do not believe what they profess. And,I am trying to tell you,my readers that..a believer of the second kind would ...be vulnerable to proof beyond doubt, before they believe. And the believer of the first kind, would approach with a faith and instinctive trust attitude.
Now,you could be mistaken...to think,I had all that I am writing now, figured out before-hand.I would not blame you for thinking this way;my writing usually comes across authoritarian.I have only figured out, what you read here,now...in the last seconds and minutes(...make of it,what you will)Let us continue.
The ills and weakness of the second kind of believer...is that they tend to disbelieve everything. One reason for..doing this,is,so they are not disappointed by anything.Disappointments can be painful (I know,a few)However, the journey of life has taught a lot of us,that disappointments are not necessarily real, sometimes. And when they are real, they serve as chastisement or opportunity for greater and better things.I don't need to tell you, where to look for stories that, confirm what I have just said.
To keep this on the type of believer topic;when you are ..a first type of believer, then
you tend to keep an open mind about a lot of things while still keeping your priorities and principles firmly in sight. So I would take an extreme example:And say..do I believe in aliens? If I was to keep...a closed mind about it,I would say absolutely no.Of course,I have not seen one,and the bible does not teach, that aliens exist. Now,if I was ...to keep an open mind;I would say,who knows? Why?Because, the definition of alien (for me)is vague. If the millions of bacteria, virus and visits to outer space leave life that transforms, what would it look like when it ....comes back(or when we encounter it,later on)The narrow definition of alien life is that, there are a million galaxies...out there. There must be life(out there)that started the same way on earth.Who knows?God is not a God of earth alone.God is God of the universe. And,as much as I believe...the bible is the word of God.(ie.message sent to us)It does not, exclude every possibility outside the structure of the earth. Now,where does...my priorities and principles come in...?I believe instinctively and by faith(a reference from the word of God)that my survival is best served by living ...a holy life.Am I there yet?Of course not!Am I holy?By faith ...I am.(Confusing?Read the bible)The point is...chose to be the second kind or type of believer, whether you believe in God or goodness or not...because it leads to a stable mindset. If you continue ...to believe in the second type, maybe because you are afraid of looking like a fool(or scared of disappointment)then, you would end up becoming a non-existent being(same like nothing)
I want to end with ...a belief system that helps me,a lot.I BELIEVE IT IS STUPID (ie.not intelligent)to be sad. Why?I have only ...mentioned this to five or six privileged people. Now,I am sharing ....it with the world.
Here is the logic:If something 'bad'happens to you today, and it makes you sad.Consider this...If the next events or things to happen to you,for the rest of your life are ...all bad. What is the point of bothering yourself about, the first one? They are all going to be bad anyway. If you "kill"yourself about the first one, then you are being silly, there is a lot more to come;you might as well get on with it.TRUE
On the other hand..if what comes next is...going to be a good thing(and it usually is)why again "kill"yourself about the first bad;there is a good that would come, that would overshadow it,that you CAN focus on...Of course,we can hardly stop ourselves from feeling the emotion:sadness, but don't dwell on it.why?because of what I have just said above.Happy living.OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE FRENCH and TURKEY PEOPLE,STAY and SAY STRONG.Your's truly austin4sports.com
